Canadian saxophonist Jane Bunnett has assembled an exciting new sextet featuring the finest young women musicians in Cuba. Maqueque consists of Jane and virtuoso drummer Yissy Garcia, percussionist Dayme, Yusa on tres guitar and fretlass bass, pianist Danae, and Magdelys on batás and congas. They are a blend of traditional Cuban music with folkloric rhythms and jazz.
